
Yesterday, Consul General Albert Panton León of Cuba in Shanghai, Deputy Director Yang Jin of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial People’s Government, Deputy Director Xiao Rangjian of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal People’s Government, and Secretary-General Chen Song of Hefei Foreign Economic Cooperation Association paid a visit to SUNERGY (SUNERGY) for inspection and guidance. Against the backdrop of the prominent global energy crisis, Cuba is trapped in an energy predicament due to external blockades and its own infrastructure limitations, with prolonged power outages seriously affecting people’s livelihood and economic development. In this context, both parties held in-depth consultations on core issues such as China-Cuba energy cooperation opportunities and project implementation paths, laying a solid foundation for subsequent practical cooperation and helping Cuba address its energy crisis.

At the beginning of the exchange, Chairman Guo Wandong extended a warm welcome to Consul General Albert and his delegation. Combining the current global energy crisis situation, he detailed SUNERGY’s development history, full-industry chain layout and core business achievements, focusing on the company’s advantages in photovoltaic, energy storage (residential and commercial & industrial) and integrated energy solutions. He emphasized that the company can provide customized clean energy services, whose solutions are highly aligned with Cuba’s urgent needs to address the energy crisis.
Consul General Albert highly appraised SUNERGY’s industrial strength and introduced Cuba’s current energy predicament: affected by the global energy crisis and external blockades, Cuba is facing a prominent power gap, and prolonged power outages have impacted people’s livelihood and the economy, which is in urgent need of capital and technical support. He stated that Cuba is fully promoting energy transition, and SUNERGY’s advantages in photovoltaic and energy storage are exactly what Cuba needs. The purpose of this visit is to explore cooperation points, promote the implementation of relevant products and services, and ease energy pressure.

Subsequently, accompanied by Chairman Guo Wandong, Consul General Albert and his delegation visited SUNERGY’s exhibition hall and production areas in person, observed core products such as energy storage equipment and photovoltaic modules, focused on inquiring about the adaptability of the products to Cuba’s climate and power needs, and both parties conducted in-depth discussions on details such as product adaptability and technical support. Consul General Albert showed great interest in the practicality and adaptability of the products.
This visit deepened the understanding of the Consulate General of Cuba in Shanghai on SUNERGY and built a communication platform for China-Cuba clean energy cooperation.
